Why cant I go out?

I have to explain to Ginger that she is a house cat. Outdoors are dangerous, she may get ran over by a car, catnap by some stranger, chased by some stray dogs or catch some fleas or diseases.

I think you need to get a harness and leash. Or a stroller!

Oh poor Ginger... But safety first! You should pay attention to mommy's indications, she knows what is the best for you...

Bless her heart. I am glad mine can go play outside. The adopted city cat loves to go play for about 30 minutes in the morning in the backyard and then about an hour in the afternoons if it isn't too cold. My boy hunts so he goes in and out as he pleases. One girl doesn't like the outdoors unless the mood hits her. But we are way away from everyone. No cars to hit them. The Labs protect them so that no strange dog comes by to visit. And they enjoy walking to the pond and watching the fish. But being by a highway or other animals I'd be afraid to let them out too.

We did have one growing up that loved to play in the butterfly bushes so my mom had a leash for her so she could go play. She was so happy.

Is there any place in the house you could enclose?

A screened in balcony or patio (or even a window) would let the Spice Kitties get most of the outside benefits, without the risk of getting lost or eaten that the 'real outside world' brings with it.
