Kitty Wrestling

What are they looking at?

Kitty Wrestling!

The Spice Cats house is never boring, with Tiger and Ninja constantly running around, wrestling, climbing, exploring, playing.....

They have both grown quite a bit and are now the healthy, hyper-active and chubby kittens they should be.

As you can see, Tiger is obviously the bigger sibling....

They are both going to their new forever home this weekend. I am going to really miss them but is also happy that they will grow up big and happy in their new home.

Kittens for Adoption

About 2 weeks ago, a friend found 3 kittens near her office. One died. So she decided to bring the remaining 2 to me. They should be around 6-7 weeks old now.

Tiger (striped) is the active and curious one. He ran all over the room and explored every corner. He is also extremely playful. He loves a cuddle and loves to lie on your chest when you sleep. Purrs like a sewing machine whenever you cuddle him.

Ninja (black) is the sweet one. She prefers to stay close to you and also seems to enjoy a cuddle. She purrs too, though not as loud. She is very trusting and gets along with everything, including all the dogs. Does not seemed to be afraid of them at all.

Both of them are not afraid of people, in fact, they seems to be very attached to people. Whenever I am in the room, they will make sure they stay close beside me. And even climbed all over me.

Anyone who is interested, please drop me an email at psharlene@gmail.com.

Another Kittens Alert

Remember my friend who had some kittens problems 2 years ago? Read about it at New Borns and Clearer Photos of the New Borns.

Well, he gave me a call about 2 weeks ago. Apparently another mummy kitty has given birth near his garden. But the kittens are about 2 months old now and are playing in his garden. I went over and managed to snap some photos of the 3 kittens, although they are very shy and hide in the drain whenever I go too near.

A cute Calico kitten.

A cute Black and White kitten.

Another adorable Black and White kitten.

The mummy kitty observing me from under the drain.

My friend are now feeding the kittens and I told him to make friends with them so that we can get them spayed (the mummy kitty too) and maybe put them up for adoption. They are all now too afraid if humans and it is impossible to catch them.

Kittens Alert

About 2 months ago, after one of the hiking trips, we went to our usual stall in PJ for cendol after lunch. There, we saw a 5 extremely cute kittens with their mother.

The mother, in black, is a small cat. She is not bothered that I went close and check out her kittens, probably used to humans in the busy place.

This kitten, however, hissed at me when I tried to touch it. The mother looked up at me when the kitten hissed, decided that I am harmless, and went back to her afternoon nap.

Happy Birthday Sesame!

Sesame is ONE year old today! How time flies. Seeing him now, it is hard to imagine that he is once just like the kittens I saw at my friend's place.

First week of his life, with his eyes still closed.

Sleeping comfortably with Snoopy.

And without Snoopy. Sesame used to sleep with his mouth open when he was a baby.

When he opened his eyes. Such gorgeous innocent blue eyes.

Isnt he adorable?

Looking at his own reflections on the floor. Just learning to crawl.

This is one of my favourite picture.

This is when he turned into a mischievous little kitten!

About 2 months old and his blue eyes slowly evolved into beautiful deep yellow.

We also realized now that he is gonna grow up to be a handsome, fluffly cat.

And he did! Such a handsome boy now.

Happy Birthday Sesame!

Clearer Photos of The New Borns

I received these photos in my email today. It was taken by a nice lady that went to visit them on Saturday morning and gave them some food. These photos were taken before the mommy cat moved the kittens behind the boxes.

You can clearly see the mummy cat here, a beautiful Calico. There are 5 kittens.

2 blacks, 2 white+tan and 1 white+black

Wait! There is a black kitten with white nose! Might be a tuxedo cat!

I am gonna pay them a visit again soon. Another good friend of ours also bought a pack of kitten food for the mommy. She will be well fed and let's hope she wont move the kittens away.

New Borns

At 7:30am on Sunday morning, I received a SOS sms from a friend, saying that a cat has just given birth in his storeroom. I didnt see the sms until at about 12noon (Becoz I slept at 3:30am!). It is ironic. This good friend of mine are one of those very rare people who have an extreme fear for fur. So extreme that in order to move a soft toy in his car, he has to use a tissue to hold the soft toy because he just could not touch the fur on the soft toy.

I went over to his place at about 6:15pm to take a look at the kittens. Its well hidden in all the boxes. The mother cat hisses everytime we try to go near. That's understandable since she doesnt know us, probably think that we are trying to harm her babies.

A closer look. You can see 2 kittens in this photo. There are actually 5 of them. Such cutie!

I told my friend it is God's way of telling him that its time he overcome his fear of fur. My friend is now feeding the mommy cat with cat food and water, though he tries to stand as far as possible when he does that. We are trying to convince him to adopt 2 of the 5 babies.

Kitten Alert!

Last Tuesday, I came back from work early and found a kitten sitting in front of my neighbour's house. I have not seen this kitten before and does not know where he comes from. The mother is no where to be seen. He looks quite thin. When I approached him, he did not run away and let me pat him. When I carried him in my arms, he just looked up at me and gave me a soft 'meow'. He looks hungry so I decided to give him some food.

Pepper was the first to greet the kitten, very gently. I am pleasantly surprised.

Followed by Ginger..... The 2 male Spice Cats kept their distance....

Pepper won't let the kitten out of her sight, probably that's the motherly instinct kicking in..... I think its very sweet.

I then picked the kitten up and gave him some food. He refused to eat the cat biscuits! Maybe he is not so hungry afterall! So I gave him some tuna, which he ate happily.

After a good dinner, I introduced the kitten to Winter. Winter was very curious and the kitten was very reserved about the big wolf dog.

They soon warmed up and Winter was delighted. She loves kittens.

Sesame, on the other hand, was not friendly at all. When he saw the kitten, he made a loud hiss and the kitten hissed back. I gave Sesame a stern scolding and a long lecture about how he should NOT hiss at less fortunate cats or kittens, especially if the kitten is smaller than he is.

The kitten then settled down in between my legs.

I reminded myself that I cannot afford to take in anymore cats. Besides I am not sure whether the kitten's mother is still around or whether he belongs to anyone. So I let the kitten back outside. Since I am bringing 2 of the Spice Cats to the vet on Saturday, I planned to take the kitten together for a checkup and vaccine, if he is still around. Probably get him spayed as well if he is old enough.

But the next day when I go to work, the kitten was nowhere to be seen. On Friday, I saw the kitten again, inside my neighbour's house. Mmmm.... probably my neighbour has decided to adopt the kitten (I certainly hope so!). I will keep my eyes open for this little fella in the future.

My Little Green Friend

Sesame has found a new friend, the Little Green Alien, a gift from Andrew last Christmas. So far, Sesame has been pretty gentle with his Little Green friend. Not having any siblings to pay with, he is pretty attached to human. He loves to play with the human hand and pretends that your hand is another kitten. But be careful, he can be over-excited and leaves some tiny scratches on your hand if you are not careful.

Time sure flies, from he is now 3.5 months old. I wonder how heavy he is now.

My new Little Green friend, with the big head.

MMmm......What's down there?

What’s the noisy thing around my neck?

I took Pepper’s Pink Safe Cat Collar and put it on Sesame yesterday. At first, he did not seem to be aware of it until he started moving around and the bell started making a lot of noise. He then tried to catch the bell around his neck with his 2 front paws, and then he tried to paw the collar off. He was stumbling all over the place and trying different position to get hold of the noisy bell. It was quite funny.

After awhile, he finally got used to the noisy little bell around his collar. Last night, in my room, I could still hear the bell from the living room. Maybe I should remove the bell until Sesame gets older. Being a hyper-active kitten, he makes so much noise! This morning, he greets me outside my room, wearing the collar proudly around his neck.

I need to get a new Safe Cat Collar. Although pink looks really great on Sesame, but he is after all a boy. Will need to get a not so girlish color. Maybe bright light blue....or maybe even yellow.

Trying to get hold of the noisy bell, until he almost fell off the sofa. Mmmm.... you can't see his pink collar in this photo.

That was me, trying to distract Sesame from the Safe Cat Collar.
"Look at the lizard!"
"Where? Where?"

You lied! Now get this noisy little thing off me!

Pepper came to check what is the fuss about.

Aiyah! Its just a collar, not worth my time.

Cats Taste for Food

Cats are such picky eaters. Yesterday, I opened a new can of Cat’s Choice Seafood Basket. Never bought this brand before but someone told me it’s quite good so I thought I’ll give it a try. As usual, I only poured half a can into the cat bowl and keep the other half in the fridge for the next day. Then I added some Omega-3 and Omega-5 powder into the food and stirred it. The Spice Cats were eagerly waiting at my feet, looking at me preparing their dinner.

I placed their bowls at their usual eating place. Garlic and Pepper smelled the food and just walked away. Ginger and Sesame seemed to be enjoying the food and started munching away. Ginger, being a perfect lady, ate politely and kept her food in the bowl. Sesame, being a small boy, ate clumsily and spilled his food all over the floor.

After seeing Ginger and Sesame enjoying themselves, Garlic decided to give it a 2nd try. He came, smelled and decided to eat some of the food. Pepper on the other hand, refused to touch it at all. Pepper has funny taste in food, she loves the blended vegetables and chicken that I feed Winter. But she gets diarrhea if she eats too much vegetables. So I avoid feeding her too much vegetable.

Cats! I now need to have a spreadsheet to record down which brand and which flavor that each of them like and dislike. You see… its not just the brand or the flavor. All the Spice Cats do not like Snappy Tom Tuna but loves Whiskas Tuna for Kitten. I guess different brand of Tuna taste different, just like the Canned Tuna for human. Feeding Winter is much simpler, she loves everything, except for her regular dry dog food.

Ginger, eating like a perfect lady.

Sesame, the small boy eating from the floor!

It really looks like they are enjoying theirselves. Should I give it a try?

Mmm....its not bad after all, but its not delicious either.... Well, its better than nothing!

Not even a bit interested....

Nope, I am not eating those things you put in the bowl.
